About Dr. Ayzin

Dr. Ayzin has been in private practice for over 20 years. He studied Psychobiology at University of Southern California and due to high acceleration with his studies, he earned his DDS Degree at USC Dental School in 1988. Dr. Ayzin is a Fellow of The World Clinical Laser & Imaging (WCLI) Institute. He is affiliated with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Orange County Dental Society. He is also on HOAG staff, one of the best hospitals in Orange County.

He specializes in state-of-the-art cosmetic treatments, including porcelain veneers, and full mouth reconstruction, as well as fast and effective relief of pain, repairing broken and chipped teeth, tooth colored dental fillings, root canals, wisdom and other difficult tooth extractions, periodontal care for bleeding gums, geriatric dentistry.

A very large spectrum of his practice are fearful patients, who were afraid of dental work for years. In conjunction with a group of well qualified anesthesiologists, Dr. Ayzin very successfully treats these patients under complete or IV sedation. Patients love to have this option available to them.

Dr. Ayzin is happily married for 21 years and has a son.

Besides loving dentistry, he enjoys traveling, fishing, and photography.

A word from Dr. Ayzin:

From the childhood I knew what I wanted to do with my life. A great driving desire to be a dentist - confident in myself, dedicated to others, a financially secure person with a big heart and magician's hands has been a part of me since I was 13 years old.

This feeling grew slowly, but progressively during seven years when I had great exposure to dentistry, by visiting my parents in a dental office, where they worked as a dentist and a dental technician. Everything started when I saw a dentist at work for the first time. I remember this event as though it happened yesterday. It was not so much an event in a literary sense: nothing really took place, there was no action, in which I was involved myself. I was only looking at what was going on as a spectator.

That day, I came to the dental office to get an apartment key from my mom. She was not in the office at the moment, and I seated myself at the dentist's chair. Every child at that age wants to be like his parents, wants to imitate them. I was no exception.

As I have already said, my mother was out of the office, so being a curious boy, I turned my eyes to the right, where a man in a white uniform worked with a patient. I did not see the dentist's face (he stood with his back towards me). I could see only his hands. The hands were ordinary hands. One could see big, muscular, but at the same time, gentle man¹s hand with long, sharp fingers. Those fingers. They were so virtuous! Turning and twisting, not stopping for a second, they created a fairy tale.

Fascinated by their manipulation I couldn¹t take my eyes away. I gazed on them. I followed their every movement, like a simple spectator watches a magician performing a trick. Name of the magician was dentist, name of the trick-treatment of a bad tooth. Like a spectator who wants to catch a hidden movement of the performer to learn the techniques of the trick, I wanted to catch it, just to satisfy my childish interest.

At the time the doctor was concentrated on his work. With confident movement he took a small mirror and a pointer, examined the patient's mouth carefully, looked at the negative of the bad tooth, understood a problem and began to "solve" it. A second later a handpiece was in his right hand, and he was making a correct form for the filling. Next moment the "magician" filled it up with a filling material. Of course, the work took, at least, a quarter of an hour, but for the child, who was fascinated with the work, time didn't have any meaning. I was out of earthy dimensions just like the viewer, whose eyes are riveted on the object of the magician's work during a long lasting show.

The job was finished. The performance was over, the curtain was lowered. Naïve spectator left the auditorium stunned by the trick itself and by the fact that he neither understood nor learned the techniques of the trick. On the way home, I wanted to see it again and again. What was more important I wanted to try to repeat it to get a "feeling" of dentistry, doing it with my own hands - great desire motivated me.

Later, on many occasions during my volunteer work, I found out that I have sensitivity to the needs of other people and the ability to communicate with the patients. Also I have good hands, inherited from my father, and excellent perceptual as well as dexterous abilities and craft skills, which can not be substituted by anything else in the dental profession.

About Dr. King

Dr. Thomas King was born and raised in Southern California. After high school he attended the University of Pacific in Stockton California where he played water polo and was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. Upon graduating with a degree in Chemistry, Dr. King attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California and graduated in 1978. Dr. King opened his practice in Walnut Creek, California in 1983 and was married in the same year. He is the father of two children, Max 27 and Riley 25. In 2010, Dr. King sold his dental practice and began a retirement. Finding that he missed dentistry and wishing to return to Southern California, Dr. King began working as an associate focusing on implant restorations for several practices in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. His hobbies include snow skiing and scuba diving.
